'Dreams of a City' award, client: Big Apple Circus, 2002, 16in. high, painted wood and metal, edition of 7

This piece is the fifth in a series of 'award toys' presented at the circus¹ annual benefit gala. The 2002 production theme was expressed by images of 19th century aerialists against a dramatic silhouette of the Brooklyn Bridge which in turn rises out of an atmospheric sky line. This award incorporates all those elements with the added feature that the trapeze artists actually swing back and forth. A brass plaque was affixed to the footing of the bridge and the circus' 25th anniversary emblem is inset in the cloud form base. .
